KNK Energy has recently been selected by CSII (Cubico Sustainable Investments Iberia), one of the world’s leading companies in the management of renewable assets, for the development of a specific technical Due Diligence in the O&M area, as an external independent consultancy for the acquisition of several solar thermal power plants with parabolic trough and central tower technology (with a total installed power of 120 MW) as well as the specific company in charge of the O&M activities of these solar thermal power plants.
The analysis has been developed in collaboration with DNV G.L., a prestigious international consultancy specialized in independent technical evaluation in risk and quality management.
The project was developed in two stages:
- Previous analysis of the financial model (pre-DD) where all the O&M costs associated with the different plants were reviewed, and preparation of a “red flag” type report with the main risks identified and mitigation proposals for these
- Preparation of a complete technical Due Diligence report, identifying the risks and strengths in each of the areas analyzed and proposing a list of specific actions to optimize the operational structure and O&M costs of the different assets
This project has served as a starting point for collaboration with CSII in other technical consulting processes for the acquisition plan for renewable energy assets, mainly solar thermal and photovoltaic, that CSII is promoting in Spain and Portugal
